Heptane (reference heptane) is a colorless clear liquid without precipitate, highly inflammable with flash point 4°С, self-ignition point 223°С. Reference normal heptane is paraffin hydrocarbon.

Application:

Heptane is a reference for determination of gasoline octane numbers. It is used as reference fuel when determining automobile and aviation gasoline octane numbers and their components by motor and research method, aviation gasoline rating using a rich mixture, solvent, etc.
