Sphere of application
Rust solvent is recommended for current maintenance of machines, mechanisms, machinery, metal constructions. It may be used for anti-corrosion protection of steel surfaces (pipes, oil production pumps, bridges, high voltage line supports, railway wagons, marine vessels, etc.) as a phosphating reagent followed by application of paint materials, useful for welded seam treatment.
Prior to rust solvent application, metal surface conditioning is required: cleaning from embedded rust by a mechanical method and defatting (if necessary).
Rust solvent is applied with a brush or sprayer. Upon application, metal surface undergoes natural drying. For more effective rust removal, treatment process should be repeated 2-3 times. Rust solvent does not require water washing. During treatment, moisture impact on the metal surface is not acceptable!
As a result of rust solving, a phosphate film is formed on the metal surface that properly absorbs applied primers and paint materials based on alkyd, acryl, phthalic, epoxide, latex and polymeric petroleum resins.
Further treatment with primers and paint materials is carried out onto the dry surface no sooner than 12 hours (optimally 24 hours) upon application of the last layer of the rust solvent.
Works are to be carried out at a temperature not below 5°С.
Consumption rate: in case of a single treatment: 1 m – 100-200 g of the rust solvent. Consumption depends on the application method, rust structure as well as its thickness.
