Sphere of application
The varnish is related to the group of electric insulation impregnating oil-resistant varnishes. The sphere of application of the FL-98 varnish includes impregnation of windings of electric motors and machines in tropical version. It has high hardenability degree, is not prone to crumbling at bends and knees, does not soften when being heated subsequently. It is also thermally elastic and resistant to tropical climate and moisture.
Application method
The varnish shall be applied to the surface by the dipping method. After drying, the varnish form a layer of solid gel on the windings. If the substance is too viscous, it can be diluted with xylene. It gets dry at a temperature of 120°С for two hours. When handling the varnish, it is necessary to be extremely careful and prevent it from getting onto exposed skin areas and into eyes.
Specifications
FL-98 varnish is a mixture of phenol-formaldehyde and alkyd resins solved in organic solvents. After using, it shall be placed into a tightly closed contained and keep it away from foods, electrical appliances and heating systems. The varnish shall be protected against moisture and direct sunlight. The cementing properties retain for a long period of time. As to this property, the FL-98 varnish is superior to varnishes on oil-bitumen base. In addition, it has low viscosity that makes it possible to fill the windings with varnish base better. It can be used under severe conditions: on crane and traction motors without loss of properties.
