Sphere of application
ML-133 varnish is intended for coating various oxidized or anodized aluminum coatings. It can be applied over enamels based on melamine- or urea-formaldehyde resin. The varnished surfaces get improved resistance to attack of oil, water and gasoline.
Application method
This material shall be applied to the prepared surfaces by pouring or dipping or by means of an air-stream sprayer. In case of thickening, the varnish can be diluted with RKB-1 or other solvent, or butanol-xylene (1:1) mixture as well as with pure xylene. Consumption per layer: approximately 80 g/m². The ML-133 varnish requires high temperatures (at least +120°C) to be dried. The time of drying at this temperature will be 50 minutes. After drying, the material forms a smooth and even film without foreign inclusions, pock-marks and wrinkles, which is capable of withstanding the static attack of gasoline, water or oil for 36 hours without any damages or loss of properties. When handling the toxic material, it is necessary to use a respirator and protect your hand skin with rubber gloves. Do not swallow or inhale it. The varnish is prone to fire, therefore it is necessary to exclude nearness of any ignition sources both during the painting and varnishing works and during the storage of the material.
Specifications
ML-133 varnish is explosion- and fire-hazardous material made from alkyd and melamine-formaldehyde resin with addition of organically-based solvents.
The non-volatile matter content in the material is about 41-51%.
Keep the varnish in a dark and dry storage room.
