Type: enamel based on E-41 epoxy resin.
Sphere of application: it is intended for painting of preliminary primed surfaces of steel, magnesium, aluminum and titanium alloys as well as copper and its alloys. The painting with enamel without priming is allowed.
Properties: the enamel is produced is various colors. The EP-140 enamel consists of two components: the semimanufactured enamel and hardener No. 2. The components shall be mixed immediately before application; in so doing 30 weight parts of hardener No. 2 shall be taken per 70 weight parts of the semimanufactured enamel for the colors yellow, dark red, khaki and black, and 25 weight parts of hardener No. 2 shall be taken per 75 weight parts of the semimanufactured enamel for other colors. The silver-colored EP-140 enamel is delivered complete with hardener No. 4 and PAP-2 aluminum powder in the following proportion: semimanufactured enamel – 70 weight parts, hardener No. 4 – 30 weight parts and aluminum powder – 11 weight parts. The prepared enamel shall be used within 6 hours.
Surface preparation: the surface to be painted shall be dry and clean
Coating application: to dilute the enamel, the R-5A solvent or blend of solvents consisting of acetone, ethylcellosolve and xylene taken in proportion 30:30:40, respectively. Prior to application, the enamel shall be stirred thoroughly. The enamel shall be applied by air-stream spraying, poring or brush. The consumption is 75 to 130 g/m2 per layer depending on the color.
Safety precautions: when performing the painting works as well as after finishing them, it is necessary to ventilate the room thoroughly. Use rubber gloves to protect your hands. Keep the enamel in a tightly closed container ensuring the protection against moisture and direct sunlight.
