Type: suspension of pigments and fillers in water dispersion of acryl copolymer with addition of silicone emulsion and various additives.
Sphere of application: it is intended for high-quality protective and decorative painting of facades of buildings and structures (concrete, brick, and plastered surfaces) including performance of works for heat insulation of building facades. The paint can be used for painting internal rooms, particularly, bathrooms.
Advantages: the paint forms a strong durable moisture- and weather-resistant coating, which has high vapor permeability and high resistance to abrasion. The painted surfaces may be washed with the use of household detergents. The paint is easy to apply onto the surface by means of a roller or brush, or by the airless spraying method.
Surface preparation: the surface to be painted shall be dry, strong and free of cracks, loose areas, dust and dirt. The surfaces painted previously with paints of the same type shall be free of dust and dirt, loose parts of old paints and substrate, irregularities and cracks. The old coating consisting of mineral paints, loose coatings, flacking-away parts of the base, chalk or lime-chalk coatings shall be completely removed mechanically or by the sand- or hydroblasting. The surface defects shall be smoothed out with cement or polymer-cement compound; the surface shall be sanded and cleaned from the abrasive residues. Prior to painting, the mineral surfaces shall have the age of at least 28 days and be held within 2-3 days after rain at a temperature of not lower than plus 10°С. The allowable residual humidity of bases prior to painting is no more than 8%. The paint shall be applied to the surface at a temperature of surrounding air and the surface itself of plus 7°С to plus 35°С under favorable weather conditions, i.e. at a temperature of not lower than 7°C, in the absence of rain, strong wind or fog. In case of deviations from these recommendations, the performance characteristics and technological effectiveness of the paint application. If the surfaces are to be painted for the first time or if the paint is to be applied onto the bases of buildings, it is recommended to apply the priming coat of acryl-silicone facade paint after diluting the latter with drink water to viscosity of 18-20 s as measured by means of the VZ-246 viscosimeter with the nozzle diameter of 4 mm at a temperature of (20.0±0.5)°C. The time of drying of the priming coat is at least 2 hours at a temperature of (20±2)°C and relative air humidity of no more than 65%. As the temperature decreases or air humidity varies, the drying time increases.
Coating application: the paint shall be applied onto the surface to be painted by means of a roller or brush, or by the airless spraying method. A brush should be used on non-critical hard-to-reach areas as well as for eliminating of cosmetic defects arisen during the application. If necessary, the paint shall be diluted with water in the quantity not exceeding 10% of the paint weight. Prior to application, the paint shall be stirred thoroughly. The paint shall be applied in one or two layers exclusive of the priming coat. The time of drying of each layer is at least 2 hours at the ambient temperature of (20±2)°С and relative air humidity of no more than 65%. As the temperature decreases or air humidity varies, the coating drying time increases. To avoid formation of visible joints of areas of the treated surface, the paint should be applied in a single passage by the “wet over the wet” method. The paint gets ultimate strength characteristics after 4-7 days from the moment of application. On finishing the works, the containers and tools shall be washed and the paint spots shall be removed using soapy water before drying-up of paint. It is not allowed to mix the paint with solvent-borne paints or solvents of any type. Paint consumption: 150-250 g/m2 per layer. The paint consumption depends on absorption capacity and roughness of the surface and on the painter skills.
Storage conditions: the paint shall be stored in air-tightly closed polyethylene containers and transported at a temperature of not lower than 5°C. In winter, it is allowed to transport the paint in heat-insulated trucks and store it in heated storehouses.
Safety precautions: should the paint get into eyes, they shall be washed with plenty of water.
