Notes
1. Should there be a film on the enamel surface, such film shall be removed.
2. The formation of a precipitate and increase of the enamel viscosity during the storage is allowed provided the enamel complies with the requirements of the Specifications when being stirred and diluted with a solvent to the viscosity of 80-120 s.
The enamels of other colors not provided by the Specifications can be manufactured under a contract with the customer; in this case, all the enamel characteristics excluding the color, covering power and non-volatile matter content shall comply with the requirements of the Specifications.
Packaging: according to GOST 9980.3, group 7, in metal cans with the capacity of 1, 2, 10 or 20 litres; metal drums with the capacity of 45 litres (with the net weight of 1.0, 2.0, 10, 20 and 45 kg).
The packaging into containers of other kinds according to the technological regulations is allowed provided such containers ensure the safekeeping of the enamel during the transportation and storage.
Surface preparation: the unpainted wooden surface shall be cleaned from resinous matters, dried and smoothed out for removing the nap using abrasive cloth (it is allowed to use the using abrasive cloth with the grain size of 4 or 5 according to GOST 6456) and de-dusted. To reduce the enamel consumption and improve the finishing quality, it is recommended to prime the unpainted surface preliminarily with the GF-021 primer (GOST 25129) or other alkyd primer and smooth out the surface without exposure of the wooden surface.
Any contaminants and flaking coating shall be completely removed from the previously painted surface, and the surface shall be polished and de-dusted.
Enamel application conditions:
- temperature of air in the room and enamel: not lower than 5°C;
- relative humidity of air: no more than 80%;
- humidity of the surface to be painted: 8-10%.
Recommendation for application: If necessary, the enamel shall be diluted before application with S4 150/200 Nefras (TU RB 100006485.147) or white spirit (GOST 3134).
Should there be a film on the enamel surface, such film shall be removed. The enamel shall be stirred thoroughly before application and diluted as necessary with S4 150/200 Nefras (TU RB 100006485.147) or white spirit (GOST 3134) and filtered through a layer of gauze.
The enamel shall be applied by means of a brush or roller in 1-2 layers. The time of drying of each enamel layer at the temperature of (20±2)°C is not more than 24 hours. Any heavy physical impacts should be avoided for 7 days after painting.
At a lower temperature and high relative humidity of air, the drying time increases.
The thickness of the dried single-layer coating shall be at least 25 μm.
The enamel consumption for a single-layer coating depends on the preparation of the surface to be painted, application method, personnel skills, etc.
The theoretical enamel consumption for a single-layer coating is 80-100 g/m2.
Storage: the enamel should be kept in a tightly closed container ensuring the protection against moisture and direct sunlight. Keep away from fire!
Safety precautions: the persons involved in performance of the painting works shall be provided with personal protective equipment (overalls, protective goggles and rubber gloves).
When performing the painting works and after finishing them, ventilate the room thoroughly.
After the intended use of the enamel, the container with the product residues shall be closed tightly with appropriate closures and sent to the garbage dump.
