The black iron oxide pigment is used in manufacture of primers and enamels, especially in such cases, where high mechanical strength of the film is required. The pigment can be also used for color matching of paintwork materials instead of soot.
The black iron oxide pigment is obtained from interaction of the ferrous sulfate and soda solution with subsequent oxidization of the sediment by oxygen.
