Rose’s alloy is lead, bismuth and tin alloy, called in honor of German chemist, Valentin Rose senior. Solder composition: tin 25%/lead 25%/bismuth 50%.

Rose’s alloy is similar to Wood’s alloy but differs in lower toxicity as it does not contain cadmium.

Application of Rose’s alloy:

Rose’s alloy is used for semiconducting engineering, in cutouts, in radiotechnics as tin-lead alloy with bismuth 50, for soldering details susceptible to overheating, for aluminium soldering, aluminium with copper and its alloys in erection joints, aluminium alloys against each other, for soldering and tinning copper, nickel, brass, bronze, copper and copper-nickel alloys with silvered ceramics, for soldering silvered details, for soldering and tinning jewellery, etc.
