Sphere of application
In paint-and-varnish, microbaryte can be used in all kinds of paintwork materials without limitation to exert positive influence on the properties of filled articles and reduce the surface defects of coatings. While having low oil absorption and high refraction index in comparison with other fillers, microbaryte makes it possible not only save the binder and pigments in paintwork materials, but also produce the paints with high non-volatile content and increase the tonnage of finished products (the density of paint or varnish with microbaryte increases that of a paint or varnish made with other fillers). While having low solubility, microbaryte is used successfully in both acid water-soluble and alkali paint or varnish compositions. Its use makes it possible to create both economic formulations allowing the consumption of white and colored pigments to be reduced, and formulations of paintwork materials with specified properties: increased gloss of surfaces, high packaging density with good flow properties and sedimentation stability, enhances dispersability and increased adhesion to substrate, low moisture and steam permeability as well as improved resistance to corrosion media, weather impacts and high temperatures.
