For priming corroded surfaces of ferrous metals
Composition
EP-0199 primer is suspension of pigments and fillers in epoxy resin solution with addition of plasticizer and other special components.
Sphere of application
EP-0199 primer is intended for use in complex systems of chemically resistant paintwork coatings for priming corroded surfaces of ferrous metals exposed to industrial atmosphere containing aggressive gases and vapors or to short-term soaking with acids and alkalis.
Properties
The material contains corrosion inhibitors and corrosion products stabilizers. EP-0199 primer may be applied on rust.
Method of application
For application of EP-0199 primer, the surface shall be free of loose upper layers of rust, loose parts of old paint, oil and other dirt.
Before application, mix the primer thoroughly. Prior to application, dilute the primer with RP solvent to working viscosity depending on the method of application.
The primer’s viscosity is very sensible to additions of solvent, so, as a rule, no more than 10% of the primer’s weight is required. Add the hardener 30 minutes prior to use.
Upon mixing with the hardener, the primer shall be used within no more than 8 hours. Upon drying the primer’s layer, further layers of EP-type enamel etc. shall be applied.
Safety precautions
EP-0199 is fire- and explosion-hazardous! Harmful if inhaled and ingested. Do not use near open flame sources.
Work in rubber gloves and with thorough ventilation. In case of skin contact, wash the skin with warm water and soap. Keep away from children.
Use RP solvent to rinse the instruments.
