Type: KhS-04 primer based on copolymer of vinyl chloride with vinylidene chloride, KhS-04 “V” primer based on maleinized copolymer of vinyl chloride with vinyl acetate.
Sphere of application: intended for coating inner surface of metal and reinforced concrete tanks for KhS-558 and KhS-558V enamels and KhV-76, KhV-76 “V” varnish, used for storage and transportation of wine.
Properties: form henna coatings.
Surface preparation: thoroughly clean the surface from dust and any other impurities or rust (preferably use the sand-blasting machine). Prior to primer application, the surface shall be wiped with acetone or with R-4 or R-4А solvent.
Coating application: prior to application, mix the primer thoroughly, dilute with R-4 or R-4А solvent to viscosity for 16–20 s as measured by means of the VЗ-246 viscosimeter with the nozzle diameter of 4 mm at a temperature of (20.0 ± 0.5)°С. Apply the primers by air-stream spraying. Consumption of primer per 1 layer shall amount to 140 g/m2. Drying of each layer at (20±2)°С shall amount to 3 hours.
Safety precautions: use rubber gloves to protect your hands. Wear overalls. Keep the primer in tightly closed containers protected from moist and direct sunlight. Keep away from fire!
Guaranteed shelf life: KhS-04 – 6 months, KhS-04V – 4 months from the date of manufacture.
