Barium carbonate

Technical Barium carbonate is designed for electronic, cellulose and paper, building materials, chemical and other industry sectors:

Barium carbonate of grade A is used for the production of electrovacuum items.

Barium carbonate of grade B is used in glass industry for the production of glass mass; in the production of high quality and original glass items; chemical and cellulose and paper industries; the production of barium ferrites; for the manufacture of magnetic latches; in other industry sectors.

Other applications of barium carbonate:

- In ceramic industry; in spinning industry barium carbonate is used to dissolve and treat the spinning solution; in the manufacture of synthetic fibers;

- in radio tube production; in the manufacture of optical glass, enamels, glazes;

- in the production of charcoal carburizers; as a zoocide for the control of rodents.

Barium carbonate is an additive to clay mass in the manufacture of bricks, which helps fighting with salt efflorescence on the surface of products and significantly improves their operational and aesthetic properties.

Barium carbonate can be added to clay mass both in the form of powder and in the form of a slurry with water. Under factory conditions when barium carbonate is added into damp clay mass in the form of dry powder, its balanced distribution in the mass is not attained. It can lead to the formation of local salt efflorescence on the surface of products or to the additive overrun. It is more efficient to add barium carbonate to clay mass in the form of a thin uniform suspension, which is produced by a continuous mixing of barium salt with water.
