Range of application
- In chemical and petrochemical industry – for the neutralization of acids and acidic oxides, as a reagent or catalyst in chemical reactions, in a chemical analysis for titration, for aluminum corrosion and in the production of pure metals, in refinery – for the production of oils.
- Caustic soda is used in pulp and paper industry for delignification (sulphate process) of cellulose, in the production of paper, cardboard, synthetic fibers, wood-fiber boards.
- For the saponification of fats in the manufacture of soap, shampoo and other cleaning materials.
- In the production of biodiesel fuel derived from vegetable oils and used to replace the conventional diesel fuel.
- In non-ferrous metallurgy, energy, in textile industry, for the regeneration of rubber. As an agent for obstruction dissolving of sewer pipes, in the form of dry granules or being a part of gel.
- Sodium hydroxide disaggregates the obstruction and contributes to its easy passing through the pipe.
Technical characteristics
It is produced by a chemical method, and the methods of mercury and diaphragm electrolysis of sodium chloride solution
