Mineral fat (Petrolatum) is a mixture of paraffin, ceresin and oil (7-38%) produced in the deparaffination of residual acid-refined or solvent-refined petroleum oils; light brown viscous mass, the dropping temperature is 55-65 °C, the flash point is 230-255 °C.
It is used as a raw material for the production of ceresin, the component of lubricants, electrical insulating compounds, antiozonant for the rubber. It also forms part of child’s plasticine.
