Paraffin oil NE-1 wax is a solid white or yellow viscous, odorless and tasteless substance, insoluble in water, but freely soluble in organic solvents: gasoline, chloroform and ether. It is a product of oil refining. The flashpoint of protective NE-1 wax is 230 °C.
The method of the protective wax production is very simple. The original wax is subjected to double water cleaning with intermediate cooling and boiling in two stages. At the first stage the process is carried out under nitrogen with hardness control, and the second stage is carried out under air with viscosity control. The method provides a higher yield of wax with desired properties through separate control of hardness and viscosity.

Protective oil wax is used for the manufacture of various polishes, lubricants, pastes of industrial purposes, in the production of porcelain stoneware, in automotive, tire and wood industry. It is often used in the production of general mechanical rubber goods as an anti-ager and a plasticizer of rubber compounds.
